Rashard Henry (12yrs) was one of the first local players to be supported by the The All Star Youth Tennis Scholarship Trust (ASYTS) and dreams of being a professional tennis player. The ASYTS is a charity that was set-up in 2007 to further the development of kids from the borough of Wandsworth showing significant promise in their ability to play tennis without sufficient parental financial means to take it to a higher level.
Last year Rashard was diagnosed with a very rare inoperable brain tumour and has undergone radiotherapy which played a role in reducing his tumour. Rashard’s tumour has started to grow again and his family are trying to raise the funds so that he can receive the best possible treatment that is unfortunately not currently available on the NHS.
Last year All Star Tennis players raised £400 at the Annual Inter-venue Tournament and on Saturday 26th October there is a fundraising walk taking place in across Wandsworth in a hope to help raise further funds for Rashard’s treatment.
