Our very own Great Britain Fed Cup team put in a clinical performance across the board to seal qualification to the World Group II play-off in April.
GB hosted the Fed Cup at Bath University and it was the first time we have played a Fed Cup tie on home soil in 26 years. Johanna Konta and Katie Boulter played a massive part in wins over Hungary, Greece and Slovenia in Group A before they added Serbia to their great run of form.
Jocelyn Rae, who is part of the support team, was thrilled with how it unfolded.
“Seeing Bath transform into a Fed Cup venue, everybody got stuck in and we loved every second of it. I know the girls felt the crowd were incredible and the atmosphere was something I’ve not seen before or been part of, so it was great.
“Apart from that, the quality of tennis was so good with our opponents really stepping up and making the most of the environment while our girls took it all in their stride.”
Great Britain have another home tie next up, this time against Kazakhstan in the World Group II play-off, set for April. We already can’t wait to see the team in action again!
We are adding a ladies team practice to the program at King Georges Park! This session will be for advanced ladies and is invitational. Ask the coach in your lesson/session if you would benefit from the session!
It kicks off on Thursday 28th February and will run each week 7-9pm.
