On Sunday the 13th of October over 50 junior players from all our venues took part in a tournament.
Weather conditions might not have been ideal, with the heaviest rain hitting during the orange group’s finals, but the players dealt with that like true champions. In fact, even when the parents and coaches were quite skeptical about continuing, it was the players’ decision to push through!
Within all age groups we’ve seen some amazing rallies and we are convinced that the future of British tennis looks very promising. The competition was really tight, with some results changing till the very last match.
The tournament was not only a great place for the players to test their skills and development, but was also an important learning experience in its own. Both kids and the coaches actively observing the games have been able to note which key elements need more work during the practice sessions.
Although, the kids might have taken home even better lesson from that experience. As one of the red ball players responded to the question about what have they learned through the tournament:
“To have fun!”
Congratulations to all of our players, no matter the results, as everyone gave it all they had. None of the players went home empty-handed, with trophies and medals for the winners and runner-ups, and our All Star logo key chains for everyone.
For more photos and videos please visit our social media platforms and we hope to see everyone on the next tournament, which will be announced soon. Stay tuned!
Following the latest government announcement it is now possible to play doubles on the All Star Tennis courts.
We are currently organising our Summer Term programme to ensure it can launch safely with new measures in place to start from the 15th June and will be in touch with all players already booked as soon as we have further details about this.
